Adoptive Parents

aola_1MSPCC’s Act of Love Adoption is a full service adoption program committed to providing families interested in parenting through adoption with supportive and compassionate care as they embark on their adoption journey. MSPCC has a rich history in adopting dating back to the 1800’s, when the world of adoption was very different. As that world has changed, MSPCC’s Act of Love Adoption Program has grown to be among the leaders in the adoption community in Massachusetts. Act of Love Adoptions maintains a license in good standing with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of Early Education and Care. MSPCC as child welfare advocates are leaders in terms of advocacy earning the respect of many across varied disciplines.

share-your-storyAs a couple contemplates adopting, AOL provides personalized consultation with the Program Director to learn more about the program and what they can expect in the process. References are available from other families who have adopted through AOL to assist the couples in making an informed decision.

Once a couple has made the decision to pursue adoption through AOL, one social worker will be assigned to complete their home study and that worker will remain with the family to guide and support them through the matching process, placement and post placement period and finalization of the adoption. While waiting for the match, the adoptive family is provided ongoing updates on the progress towards their match and the opportunity to participate in an educational program which augments the home study process and prepares the family for their long awaited match.

Recognizing that adoptioresourcesn is a life long journey, MSPCC Act of Love Adoption provides counseling support and education beyond the finalization. Annually, the program sponsors a picnic providing opportunity for socialization and promoting life long connections for all members of the triad. Act of Love welcomes new families who are contemplating adoption of varied backgrounds. For more information, please contact the Director Penny Harrison at 617-587-1554 or pharrison@mspcc.org.

Note: we are licensed to work with adopted parents in the state of Massachusetts, and with birth parents nationally.
